About Easter

This is a quirky ‘Marmite’ property that’s only just become available to us. It’ll either suit you down to the ground or it won’t appeal at all. We think it’s perfect for our clientele who really want to be at the heart of the action.

The Space

Down a narrow side street, just off the main drag of Salcombe, you will find Easter. Up the steps to a roof top apartment you can enjoy outside dining with views of the sea and surrounding cliffs and hills. The yachts and boats bobbing around in Salcombe Harbour will entice you down to the seafront and inspire you to explore.

The apartment has recently been given a fresh makeover. With seafoam green painted floorboards throughout, and light and bright new paintwork giving it a crisp and breezy feel, it’s the perfect base for your holiday being literal seconds from the heart of the town.

In the living area there’s a large, comfortable L-shaped sofa with a coffee table to rest your drinks and nibbles, plus a TV and a CD player to play your favourite tunes on.

The dining table seats four, but you may prefer to dine al fresco (watch out for those gulls!) or at least take your morning coffee onto the roof. Here there is a smart bistro set on an outdoor rug with sails lashed to the railings keeping the breeziness to a minimum and turning up the suntrap effect. The perfect place to start the day soaking up all the sights and sounds of a bustling harbour town before you head out on your adventures.

A galley-style kitchen has enough for you to prepare simple meals – Dualit toaster, kettle, and microwave plus an oven and hob, but when you’re literally in the heart of Salcombe and possibly only on a short break, you can grab your things and head out to the cafés and bars that are less than minutes away from your front door to grab your flat whites, Americanos, croissants and pastries, or your full English and eggs Benedict. Don’t get distracted by Quba Sails or Henri Lloyd though or Love From and Musto – oops, you might though because they’re all on your doorstep. Not forgetting Susie Watson, Helly Hansen, and Cranch’s Sweet Shop – how about a quarter of pineapple cubes or some strawberry bonbons?

Both double bedrooms have Velux windows and high ceilings, one with ample fitted wardrobes, the other with plentiful drawers. With clean lines and comfortable beds, after a day’s activities you’ll find them a calm haven to rest your head and sleep, to dream of the fun you’ve had and the days ahead.

There are lovely tasteful bits of artwork everywhere, with nostalgic art prints from Jean de Brunhoff in the bedroom to nautical and maritime themes in the living area.

A smart shower room has been newly kitted out, with large tiles in browns and fawns, and a super overhead shower (room for two!) with sink and loo.

This apartment screams young couples who want to be in the thick of it, amongst the hubbub of the town. Moments from bars, restaurants, cafes, shops, boat rides, and beaches. What’s not to love?

Guest access

Easter is accessed by a single flight of stairs up from street level. Inside, the flat is level with a walk in shower.

Other things to note

You won't need a car to enjoy Salcombe. In fact in the summer we'd recommend leaving it at home - Salcombe is bustling and movement on the roads and parking are tedious.

Whilst there is unfortunately no parking available outside the property, it is very close to the centre of town with the nearest parking at Creek Long Stay Car Park on Gould Road, which is less than a five-minute, short walk away. There is a storage area available outside the front door (first floor level, so up the stairs) for guests to store bikes, paddle boards and kayaks etc.

DISCLAIMER: Salcombe is a beautiful seaside town, but alongside the beauty comes the reality – and that’s the seagulls. Gulls do like to frequent this part of town, and they can be very loud – think of them as seaside cockerels! They might wake you up early (but at least that way you get to enjoy extra hours of fun in the area) and they might try and pinch your croissant in the morning. If you’re a light sleeper, then ear plugs may be a good idea. Night time noise is not such an issue as you are tucked well off Fore Street, so even if the pubs, bars and restaurants are busy you shouldn’t hear much. Even though a seagull’s shriek can be quite noisy it brings the authenticity of a seaside visit into sharp focus!
