About The Barn

The Barn at Salcombe Farm is nestled in the rolling hills above Salcombe Estuary with far-reaching views across patchwork fields and wooded valleys towards Batson Creek, East Portlemouth and beyond.

The Space

The larch-clad exterior echoes The Barns's agricultural roots whilst inside the contemporary conversion offers spacious luxury accommodation for up to 18 people. Sporting six spacious en suite double bedrooms, two kitchens and two living areas, The Barn is an incredibly flexible space, whatever the occasion.

Whether you are a group of family or friends looking for a large place to stay, getting all the family together to celebrate a loved one’s birthday or six couples wanting somewhere to share a romantic retreat, the Barn offers the ideal location for all of these and many more.

The ground floor has a bespoke hand-crafted kitchen complete with range cooker and island unit, where you can enjoy cooking and dining (dining for 18) just as much as socialising and planning the next adventure whilst all at once admiring the spectacular scenery through the panoramic windows. Two sinks, two dishwashers, a large American fridge freezer, and larder cupboard allow easy catering for large groups.

The triple bi-folding doors from the large living space lead to the outside dining table for 18 on the terrace. Complete with large barbeque, it is ideal for an al fresco banquet or just to unwind and relax with a glass of wine. Guests can stargaze at night from the wood-fired hot tub nestled in the garden, catching the evening sun, and listening to the crickets. Keep an eye out for the glowworms too.

There is a large open plan living room, with glorious views to look at whilst you sink into a sumptuous sofa. There is even a drinks prep area with a wine chiller.

The gorgeous dual-height bedrooms, finished in a soft palette of colours and intricate lighting creates perfectly styled luxury and gives guests plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some privacy. Each bed is piled high with gorgeous linens, cushions, and quilts.

Every en suite bathroom has unique stone sinks and heated towel rails ensuring you’ll be snug at all times. Marble lined walls and Casablanca terracotta tiled floors add an elegant touch.

The lower ground floor also has a bespoke built kitchen - this one with gorgeous stone worktops and an island unit finished in duck-egg blue and includes a fridge-freezer, fan oven with grill, induction hobs, large white Villeroy and Boch butler sink, wine cooler, dishwasher, and microwave. The open-plan living space has a large window where you can take in the spectacular scenery. There is a lovely farmhouse kitchen table with sofas surrounding it.

Both bedrooms and the living area on the lower ground floor have French doors opening out onto the sandstone terrace with table and chairs that take in the morning sun. The sun-drenched views surrounded by scented flowers provide the perfect spot for sitting and relaxing, listening to the morning birdsong or watching the evening star-scattered sky.

With lots of space, a flexible layout and panoramic views, this relaxing retreat offers luxurious living and a unique, amazing stay.

Reviews

We visited for a 30th birthday and had such a lovely weekend. We were sixteen people split across the barn and recording studios. The space was very well heated, super clean, light and airy, with loads of space. Beautiful views of the ponies in the fields! The hot tub was a total hit - let them know in advance that you want to use it and they’ll set it up for your arrival. Kitchen was also very well equipped, everything from scales for baking through to a Mexican elbow for margarita making.

We travelled to Salcombe for the weekend to celebrate my wife's 40th birthday with friends. The barn was as described in the advert, the pictures are accurate, it is a warm and welcoming place with amazing views and lots of great places nearby. Location was perfect. A plethora of information in the barn about places to go, eat, visit, which was useful. WiFi worked well. Freya was a great host, responsive, pro-active and always putting our needs first. I highly recommend the Barn (we rented the entire place). Thank you Freya for a great stay.

Very enjoyable stay, accurate description and extremely well presented. Only a short drive to shops, beaches and lush walks. Each bedroom has plenty of space and the en suites makes staying comfortable for each guest. The socialising areas have plenty of space for larger groups or children playing without everyone being on top each other. Highly recommended
