About The Stables

The Stables at Salcombe Farm is nestled in the rolling hills above Salcombe Estuary with far-reaching views across patchwork fields and wooded valleys towards Batson Creek, East Portlemouth and beyond.

The Space

The larch-clad exterior echoes The Barn’s agricultural roots, whilst inside the contemporary conversion offers spacious luxury accommodation for up to six people. Perfect for two couples or family and friends looking for a place to stay.

There is a bespoke-built kitchen with gorgeous granite worktops and an island unit finished in duck-egg blue and includes a fridge-freezer, fan oven with grill, induction hobs, large white Villeroy and Boch butler sink, wine cooler, dishwasher, and microwave. The open-plan living space has a large window where you can take in the spectacular scenery from the lovely farmhouse kitchen table or the sumptuous sofas.

Both spacious en suite bedrooms and the living area in The Stables have French doors opening out onto the sandstone terrace with table and chairs that take in the morning sun. The sun-drenched views surrounded by scented flowers provide the perfect spot for sitting and relaxing listening to the morning bird song or watching the evening star-scattered sky.

With lots of space, a flexible layout and panoramic views, this relaxing retreat offers luxurious living and a unique, amazing stay.

Reviews

The stables is the most beautiful space. Totally exceeded our expectations and made our stay for a 'big' birthday extra special. The children LOVED the pink, and the beds (the bunk beds were a hit) and all the lovely pink things in the kitchen, and the luxurious showers. Such a gorgeous, calming decor. Loved the views over the valley in the morning with the Dartmoor ponies in the field. Perfect spot to get in and out of Salcombe, only a couple of minutes drive (we didn't walk as we had young children and were coming back after dark but on a summer’s day it would have been a lovely walk!) but also feels as though you are in the middle of nowhere, in a good way. We all loved it and would definitely return. Thank you!!

First impressions were WOW. Beautifully decorated and spacious. Loved the furniture especially the bedrooms where we found the beds really comfortable and the bedding was outstanding. Loved the little touches all around the cottage and outside too. The ponies were super cute and the chickens.

We had a wonderful stay at The Stables. The house was decorated beautifully, well equipped, and was located a half an hour or so walk (pushing a buggy) from the main part of Salcombe. Quite steep on the way back but still manageable. Freya was excellent with communication and accommodating our needs, and left some great tips for restaurants. We loved The Beachhouse and Oyster shack!
