About Fairlead
The view is probably the first thing you’ll notice when you arrive. The house sits above Salcombe, with beautiful sea views across the town and surrounding hills, and a balcony straight off the main living space. It works really well for families, two families sharing or a group of friends — with enough space to be together without everyone having to be in the same room.
The house has been completely renovated throughout and sleeps eight, with three super king bedrooms plus a twin. There’s a large open-plan kitchen, dining and living space upstairs, a separate cinema/TV room with a 55-inch screen downstairs and two private parking spaces.
The Space
Living, kitchen & dining
The main living space is upstairs, where the views are best. Large windows and sliding doors look out across Salcombe towards the sea and open directly onto the balcony.
There are two large sofas, a solid wood dining table and a newly fitted kitchen with Bosch ovens, a Belfast sink and plenty of space to cook properly.
The balcony is a lovely spot for coffee in the morning or a drink at the end of the day, taking in the view.
Bedrooms
There are four bedrooms sleeping up to eight: three with super king beds and one twin.
All four have been newly decorated and furnished as part of the renovation, with comfortable beds, good-quality bedding and plenty of storage.
Bathrooms
There are two newly fitted bathrooms plus a separate WC.
One has a large walk-in rainfall shower; the other has a bath with a rainfall shower above.
Cinema room
Downstairs is a separate cinema room with a 55-inch screen and large, comfortable sofa.
Having a second living space makes a real difference when the house is full — particularly for two families or anyone travelling with children and teenagers.
Outside
As well as the balcony, there’s a private deck in the established garden with outdoor seating, dining space and a BBQ.
It gives you another place to eat, have a drink or spend an evening outside when the weather behaves.
Location & Parking
It’s around five minutes’ walk downhill into the centre of Salcombe, so you can leave the car behind and walk to the harbour, shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants. Like much of Salcombe, the house is on a hill, so allow a little longer for the walk back up - a handy excuse to work off the fish and chips.
There are also two private parking spaces at the house — particularly useful in Salcombe — so you can arrive, park up and do most things on foot.
