About The Recording Studios

The Recording Studio at Salcombe Farm is nestled in the rolling hills above Salcombe Estuary with far-reaching views across patchwork fields and wooded valleys towards Batson Creek, East Portlemouth and beyond. Once host to Led Zeppelin, as well as Jimmy Page and Robert Plant separately, who did indeed record some of their works down here in Devon.

The Space

The larch-clad exterior echoes The Barn’s agricultural roots whilst inside the contemporary conversion offers spacious luxury accommodation for up to 12 people. Sporting four spacious en suite double bedrooms, large kitchen and living area, The Recording Studio is an incredibly flexible space, whatever the occasion.

Whether you are group of family or friends looking for a large place to stay, getting all the family together to celebrate a loved one’s birthday or four couples wanting somewhere to share a romantic retreat, the Barn offers the ideal location for all of these and many more.

There is a bespoke hand-crafted kitchen complete with range cooker and island unit, where you can enjoy cooking and dining just as much as socialising and planning the next adventure whilst all at once admiring the spectacular scenery through the panoramic windows. Two sinks, two dishwashers, a large American fridge freezer and larder cupboard allow easy catering for large groups.

The triple by-folding doors from the large living space lead to the outside dining table on the terrace. Complete with large barbeque, it is ideal for an al fresco banquet or just to unwind and relax with a glass of wine. Guests can stargaze at night from the hot tub nestled into the garden, catching the evening sun and listening to the crickets. Keep an eye out for the glowworms too.

The open-plan living room has glorious views to look at whilst you sink into a sumptuous sofa. There is even a drinks prep area with a wine chiller.

The gorgeous dual-height bedrooms with oak floors throughout, finished in a soft palette of colours and intricate lighting creates perfectly styled luxury and gives guests plenty of room to spread out and enjoy some privacy. Each bed is piled high with gorgeous linens, cushions, and quilts.

Every en suite bathroom has unique stone sinks, Hollywood mirrors and heated towel rails ensuring you’ll be snug at all times. Marble lined walls and Casablanca terracotta tiled floors add an elegant touch.

With lots of space, a flexible layout and panoramic views, this relaxing retreat offers luxurious living and a unique, amazing stay.

Reviews

We absolutely loved our stay at the Recording Studios at Horsecombe Farm! As a big group of friends the facilities were perfect and we particularly enjoyed the living areas and hot tub. There was so much information available to us when we arrived about local restaurants, activities and walks, and we absolutely did not want to leave! Thank you again for an amazing stay.

We had a thoroughly wonderful holiday staying at the Recording Studios at Salcombe in Devon. The accommodation was very spacious and very suitable for a large party. Everything that we needed was provided and the hosts were very helpful . The directions to the property and information re: local shops and restaurants was very useful. All in all a perfect holiday and we had the bonus of wonderful weather.

Freya and Felicity were perfect hosts from the moment we arrived. The Recording Studio is even better than the photos, incredibly high quality and beautifully set out down to the smallest touches making it seem a home from home. Perfect location for getting into Salcombe but within a very peaceful setting just far enough away from the main town to enjoy the views across the fields in the mornings and evenings. We’ll definitely be visiting again soon.
